CMT Laboratory Intern | Terracon
The Tone:
This is an internship program at Terracon, offering practical exposure across geotechnical, environmental, materials, and facilities engineering, as well as the essential business functions that support these services. Terracon provides comprehensive engineering and consulting solutions to clients. What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Assist experienced engineers and technicians in diverse field and laboratory assignments.
• Develop: Build essential skills in sampling techniques, materials testing, data analysis, and comprehensive report development.
• Observe: Gain practical insight into active project work, understanding how technical decisions impact client and community outcomes.
• Learn: Absorb knowledge of safe field and laboratory practices, industry testing standards (ASTM, DOT, COE), fundamental project management, and quality management systems.
• Engage: Participate in a nationwide internship cohort program, receiving mentorship and presenting experiences to executive leadership.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil, environmental, geotechnical, geological, or construction engineering; biology; geology; or other related technical or business fields.
• Experience: Demonstrated interest in consulting and fieldwork within an engineering or environmental context.
• Skills: Proven curiosity, strong teamwork capabilities, and a clear alignment with Terracon’s core values of Caring, Courage, Curiosity, Excellence, Integrity, and Prosperity.
• Bonus: Possession of a valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history may be required for certain assignments.
