The Tone:
This is a project internship at TikTok, with a primary location inferred as Los Angeles, CA. TikTok builds the leading destination for short-form mobile video, inspiring creativity and bringing joy through its global platform. This role matters by empowering business and product teams with scalable data infrastructure, tools, and insights to drive revenue growth and operational efficiency within TikTok’s global monetization ecosystem. The intern will shape how data drives decision-making across the company’s monetization efforts.

• Mission: Define the vision, strategy, and execution of data products that empower business teams with actionable insights and scalable solutions for TikTok’s global monetization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Foundation: Build the data foundation and standardization system for international business by assisting the Data Product Manager (DPM) team in creating global data infrastructure and promoting consistent operational processes, data definitions, and indicator systems.
• Product Solutions: Collaborate with sales, strategy, operations, product, and engineering teams to identify business problems, define data requirements, and deliver analytical research and product solutions that optimize commercialization strategies and improve operational efficiency.
• Automation & Productization: Participate in automation and productization efforts to enhance global business efficiency, designing and implementing automated/tool-based solutions including datasets, visual reports, and analysis tools for large-scale reuse and efficiency improvement.
• Data Governance: Promote data governance and quality management by assisting in building a foundational governance system for data field standards, indicator definition alignment, and permissions, ensuring stable output and quality monitoring of datasets.
• Methodology & Training: Precipitate reusable methodologies from various operational analyses and project practices, providing training and documentation support for global/regional operational teams to enhance overall analytical capabilities and data tool usage skills.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, with preference for majors such as Data Science, Statistics, or Business Analysis.
• Experience: Ability to commit to a full-time, 24-week (6-month) internship period, ideally longer.
• Skills: Proficient in using SQL for data querying, cleaning, and analysis; experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker Studio; strong communication and collaboration abilities; and a clear sense of product awareness and logical thinking.
• Bonus: Relevant internship experience in data products, data analysis, or data operations within technology companies; proficiency in Python or R; and availability to intern for at least 4 days per week.
