HR Operations Specialist (Contract) | Southwest Airlines

The Tone:
This is a contract role with HireGenics, supporting Southwest Airlines. While based on the typical corporate structure of Southwest Airlines, this role is likely located in-person in Dallas, TX. Southwest Airlines is a major airline that serves a large workforce, and this position supports the essential HR operations that ensure the company’s smooth functioning. You will contribute to effective HR process execution, compliance with policies, and support critical employee lifecycle activities across various business functions, directly impacting the employee experience.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Record Management: Ensure accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information and employment status.
• System Management: Update and manage HR Information Systems (HRIS) to maintain data integrity.
• Employee Lifecycle: Coordinate onboarding processes for new hires and manage offboarding tasks for departing employees.
• Compliance & Support: Assist with ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, and serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries.
• Reporting & Improvement: Prepare and generate reports on HR metrics, such as compliance and team productivity, and support efforts to streamline HR processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a High School Diploma or GED, with developing skills and knowledge in HR disciplines, principles, practices, and policies.
• Experience: Possess entry-level experience in HR Operations, specifically in areas such as Absence Management, Compliance, Pre-Employment, and Quality Assurance.
• Skills: Demonstrate knowledge of applying compliance regulations, legal requirements related to employment screening, I9 verification, and data security, along with principles of customer service. You should be skilled in active listening, understanding implications of new information, collecting and organizing data, and generating creative solutions. Additionally, you must have the ability to combine information to form conclusions and manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
