The Tone:
This is a project internship at ByteDance, potentially located in Los Angeles, CA or surrounding county. This role is crucial for the security engineering team, which is dedicated to protecting users, products, and infrastructures through advanced security services and platforms. Interns gain exposure to the company’s security strategy and contribute to scalable, secure-by-design systems.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Model Improvement: Improve the intelligent upper limit of large models within the security field.
• Model Application: Train vertical large models and apply them to security tasks such as code analysis, vulnerability detection, attack research and judgment, threat intelligence, and Secure Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Technology Innovation: Deeply apply and innovate large model technology stacks, including data synthesis, model post-training (SFT/GRPO/Agent), model acceleration, and distillation.
• Boundary Exploration: Explore the technical boundaries and new possibilities within large model technology.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Security, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, or other STEM disciplines.
• Experience: Proven experience with C++, Java, or Python, demonstrating excellent coding ability, and familiarity with at least one common machine learning or deep learning platform. Demonstrated skills with common data mining algorithms and theories, including data denoising, statistical learning, classification and clustering, anomaly detection, and graph learning. Proven experience in big data processing, proficient in using Hive, SQL, Spark, and Flink for analysis and mining. Candidates must commit to at least a 3-month internship period.
• Skills: Excellent coding ability in C++/Java/Python; strong understanding of common data mining algorithms; proficiency in big data processing and analysis.
• Bonus: Ability to implement machine learning algorithms with relevant practical experience is preferred. Candidates who are enthusiastic about challenging tasks, self-driven, fast learners, possess good communication skills, and exhibit innovative thinking.
