Human Resources Intern | True Health
The Tone:
This is an unpaid internship at True Health, located in Sanford, FL, offering a valuable in-person learning experience. True Health, formally the Central Florida Family Health Center, Inc., is a private, not-for-profit federally qualified health center (FQHC) that has been serving Central Florida residents since 1977. Its core mission is to provide high-quality, comprehensive healthcare at a reasonable cost to everyone in the community. This Human Resources Intern role is crucial for an individual eager to gain hands-on experience across various HR functions, including employee evaluation, orientation, and strategic planning, thereby directly contributing to the organization’s workforce management initiatives. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in supporting the HR department’s daily operations and long-term goals.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Candidate Screening: Review applications and actively assist with candidate screening processes to identify suitable applicants.
• Onboarding Preparation: Meticulously prepare all necessary onboarding materials and compile new hire packets for incoming employees.
• Employee Records Management: Maintain accurate employee personnel files, manage electronic records, and update employee information within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
• Compliance Support: Track required employee certifications and licenses to ensure compliance, and actively support other compliance initiatives related to healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
• Strategic Planning & Project Collaboration: Participate in strategic planning sessions aimed at enhancing HR processes and improving overall employee engagement, and collaborate with team members on various HR initiatives and projects as needed.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
• Experience: Previous administrative or customer service experience is preferred, along with an interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources.
• Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Bonus: Experience with HRIS systems is a plus.
