Summer PR Internship | Anderson Group Public Relations

The Tone:
This is a non-paid, for-experience/college-credit internship at Anderson Group Public Relations, located in Los Angeles, California. Anderson Group Public Relations is a world-renowned firm with 30 employees across Los Angeles and New York, specializing in public relations and brand management across diverse sectors including television, film, music, fashion, corporate, sports, medical, non-profit, authors, consumer, beverage, lifestyle, special events, product launches, hospitality, and crisis management. This internship offers a significant opportunity to gain hands-on experience in media relations, communication, and marketing, directly contributing to the development and execution of public relations strategies.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Seasonal, Non-paid, for experience/college credit only (1-4 days a week, 10:00am – 6:00pm, for at least 2 months)
• Location: In-person, Los Angeles, CA

• Team: Works with teams of Publicists
• Mission: Support the development and execution of public relations strategies, assist with content creation, and help maintain positive media and community relationships within a professional environment.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Outreach: Assist with new business development by identifying and researching potential new clients, then drafting tailored email outreach.
• Content Creation: Draft various written materials including pitches, client memos, and press opportunities, ensuring they align with client objectives and media interests.
• Media Monitoring: Track client press coverage, pull relevant media clips, and conduct industry-related research for both online and print publications.
• Event and Influencer Engagement: Research and pitch clients to various A-list events, and utilize social media platforms to identify rising influencers for potential collaborations.
• Digital Asset Management: Update and maintain digital press kits, ensuring all information is current and easily accessible for media use.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student with a strong interest in public relations and a clear desire to pursue a career in the field, seeking hands-on experience in media relations, communication, and marketing.
• Experience: No specific years of experience required, but must be proficient in Microsoft Office and able to work on-site in the Melrose office immediately.
• Skills: Strong writing, research, organizational, and communication skills; able to work independently as a self-starter while also thriving in a collaborative team environment, proactive, resourceful, and capable of handling a fast-paced environment and taking direction well.
• Bonus: A genuine love for dogs, as several small dogs are present in the office environment.
