Growth Intern | Saferides – Rideshare

The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at Saferides, located in Columbia, SC, requiring a consistent in-person presence. Saferides builds a student-only rideshare platform, specifically designed to enhance campus life, currently live and successful at the University of South Carolina. The platform operates with verified student drivers and utilizes school email login for security and exclusivity. As Saferides actively expands its operations across the Southeast, this critical role is central to driving that expansion by actively growing rider and driver sign-ups directly on the ground within new and existing university communities. The chosen intern will receive direct mentorship from the founding team and assume real responsibility from day one, gaining invaluable ground-floor experience at a funded, fast-moving startup.

• Mission: This person drives rider and driver sign-ups and builds community relationships to support the company’s expansion efforts by executing on-the-ground growth strategies.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Outreach: Drive new rider and driver sign-ups through direct in-person outreach activities, including organizing and executing tabling events and various campus activations.
• Partnerships: Strategically build and nurture relationships with key student organizations and Greek chapters to foster community engagement and facilitate user acquisition.
• Business Development: Actively support and assist in outreach initiatives specifically aimed at securing local business partnerships that benefit the Saferides community.
• Reporting: Accurately track and analyze weekly performance metrics for sign-ups, outreach efforts, and partnerships, reporting comprehensive progress directly to the CEO.
• On-site Presence: Maintain a consistent and required in-person presence in Columbia, SC, two times per week, necessitating a reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license for role execution.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled as a student at the University of South Carolina or a nearby educational institution, demonstrating a strong understanding of campus dynamics.
• Experience: Proven outgoing, well-connected personality, comfortable approaching and confidently engaging with diverse individuals across campus; a reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license are strictly required for all on-the-ground activities.
• Skills: Exceptional self-starter capabilities, consistently demonstrating proactive ownership of tasks and projects without requiring constant supervision; excellent interpersonal communication, relationship-building abilities, and a results-oriented mindset.
• Bonus: A demonstrable interest in startups, growth strategies, or the field of entrepreneurship is considered a significant advantage for this role.
