Tax Intern | Minth North America, Inc.

The Tone:
This is an internship at Minth North America, Inc., located on-site. Minth is a fast-growing global company operating within the automotive sector. This role is a key addition to the expanding Finance team, offering an invaluable opportunity to gain practical experience. The Tax Intern will contribute directly to supporting the company’s crucial tax compliance and planning functions across various tax areas.

• Mission: Assist the Finance team in various tax functions to ensure compliance and support financial operations, contributing to a fast-growing global company.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Corporate, Federal & State Tax: Assist in preparing federal, state, and local income/franchise tax returns and supporting workpapers, while also supporting quarterly and annual tax provision processes, including deferred tax calculations, and assisting with tax notices or audits.
• R&D Tax Credit: Gather and analyze data to support R&D tax credit studies, help document qualified research activities and expenses, and prepare supporting schedules and reports for credit filings.
• Transfer Pricing: Support the preparation of transfer pricing documentation reports by collecting financial and operational data from various business units to aid intercompany pricing analysis.
• Property Tax: Assist with gathering property tax data and supporting documentation, help prepare property tax returns and assessments, and support the reconciliation and analysis of property tax payments.
• General Tax Projects: Conduct basic tax research, summarize findings to support compliance and planning, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on timely reporting, special projects, and process improvement initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student pursuing or having completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
• Experience: Ability to work on-site.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications, knowledge of financial principles and concepts.
• Bonus: Prior internship or work experience in finance or accounting, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, eagerness to learn, willingness to take on new challenges, ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently, and enthusiasm for a career in finance with a desire to gain practical experience in the field.
