Junior Cost Controller – Summer Intern | E2 Optics

The Tone:
This is a Summer Internship at E2 Optics, an in-person role with travel required. • Team: Reports to senior project controls staff and collaborates with cross-functional teams.
• Mission: To support project teams in managing and tracking project costs, forecasts, and invoicing for critical tech infrastructure projects.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, Procore, Primavera P6

What You’ll Actually Do
• Cost Tracking: Assist project teams with tracking project costs, labor hours, and quantities.
• Forecasting: Support the development and maintenance of project cost forecasts and cash flow updates under guidance.
• Reporting: Help prepare internal and client-facing cost reports, highlighting key trends and variances, and maintain alignment between project budgets, schedules, and actual costs.
• Invoicing: Prepare and submit accurate and timely monthly invoices for assigned projects/region, coordinating with Project Managers and Finance.
• Change Management: Support change order management processes, including documentation, routing, and tracking.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current intern or early career professional. High School Diploma or GED required; a Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Business or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience: 1-5 years of experience in accounting, administrative duties, or a related field.
• Skills: Basic experience with Microsoft Excel, exceptional organizational and time-management skills, and strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Bonus: Familiarity with tools such as Procore or Primavera P6; prior internship or exposure to construction or project-based environments.
