Design Coordinator | D.R. Horton

The Tone:
This is a Design Coordinator role at D.R. Horton. D.R. Horton, the largest homebuilder in the U.S. since 1978, constructs and sells high-quality homes primarily for entry-level and first-time move-up buyers, also providing mortgage and title services. This position is vital for coordinating the aesthetic design of homes and guiding homebuyers through their selection process, ensuring homes meet current trends and buyer preferences. The role contributes to the company’s goodwill and profit through professional and ethical business practices.

• Mission: To coordinate the interior and exterior design of homes and assist homebuyers in making selection packages for their new homes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Coordination: Correlate all interior and exterior color selection components for upcoming inventory home starts and new communities.
• Merchandising: Coordinate the merchandising and design for new model homes, overseeing their installation and ongoing maintenance.
• Client Support: Assist homebuyers in selecting designated design packages, explaining and calculating pricing for optional upgrades to achieve maximum selection.
• Vendor Management: Create and maintain relationships with relevant vendors and suppliers for home color selection components and option upgrades, finding replacements as needed.
• Design Oversight: Maintain pristine condition of current model homes, make necessary changes, and stay abreast of current design trends.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Experience: One to three years of related experience and/or training.
• Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple responsibilities, and proficiency with MS Office and email.
• Bonus: An Associate’s degree or equivalent, JDE knowledge and experience, ability to work well within a team, and bilingual communication skills are a plus.
