Engineering Internship – Summer 2026 | Fehr Graham Engineering & Environmental

This is an internship at Fehr Graham Engineering & Environmental, located in Rockford, IL. • Team: Reports to a Fehr Graham Project Manager.
• Mission: This person helps project teams complete deliverables, ensures construction meets standards, and contributes to the accuracy of engineering plans.
• Tech Stack: CAD
What You’ll Actually Do
• Construction Observation: Help with construction observation, including measuring quantities and ensuring construction is completed to standards.
• Plan Review: Review and edit engineering plans to create a product that meets Fehr Graham standards.
• Design Assistance: Complete basic design computations and help the project team complete deliverables.
• Regulatory Learning: Learn engineering standards and how state and local regulations are incorporated into design through office and field work.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers, environmental scientists, and many other people in a team environment.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing an undergraduate, four-year degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience: Familiarity with or ability to read blueprints.
• Skills: Work well independently and within a team, speak and write well, strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Bonus: Self-starter and eager to learn.
