The Tone:
This is an internship at Novastone Capital Advisors, located in the United States. Novastone Capital Advisors (NCA) runs a global Operator-Led Search Fund program, helping mid-career professionals to identify, acquire, grow, and exit established small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) typically faced with succession challenges. This role is crucial for supporting our M&A Legal team with essential organization, documentation, and special projects related to our portfolio companies. The internship offers hands-on exposure to legal operations for students interested in a legal career.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Summarize: Create and maintain an Excel spreadsheet or similar resource summarizing key provisions from portfolio company LLC and LP agreements.
• Organize: Reorganize and standardize Legal Department document folders to improve accessibility and consistency.
• Draft: Draft simple legal documentation for portfolio companies under supervision.
• Support: Provide support to the M&A Legal team with general organization tasks.
• Assist: Assist with special projects related to portfolio companies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student, preferably pre-law or early law school, studying pre-law, law, or completing paralegal studies.
• Experience: No specific years required for this internship role.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks.
• Bonus: Practical experience using Excel, Word, Teams, and SharePoint.
