AI Vision & Robotics Intern | Oxmaint AI : EAM/CMMS
The Tone:
This is an onsite internship at iFactory AI (Oxmaint AI), located in either Atlanta or San Francisco. The company operates as a small team focused on building practical AI solutions for manufacturing, industrial automation, computer vision, and robotics. This role is crucial for developing real-world systems that address complex industrial problems with limited resources, emphasizing execution over observation. The intern will gain hands-on experience in a startup environment, contributing directly to hardware-intensive projects and potentially future humanoid robotics initiatives, all within a small team structure.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop: Computer vision models, including their development and rigorous evaluation for industrial applications.
• Integrate: Industrial camera systems and various sensors, encompassing their installation, testing, and data processing.
• Build: Object detection, tracking, and inspection systems, along with robotics perception pipelines for automation.
• Deploy: Edge AI solutions, focusing on their optimization and practical implementation for manufacturing automation tools.
• Experiment: With prototype hardware and software for new robotic platforms and advanced perception systems, supporting current industrial needs and potential future humanoid initiatives.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, AI, or a related field.
• Experience: Ability to independently troubleshoot technical problems; demonstrated experience in building technical projects, showcasing what you have built, learned, and shipped.
• Skills: Strong Python programming, fundamental understanding of machine learning, basic computer vision knowledge, and familiarity with Linux environments.
• Bonus: Experience with OpenCV, PyTorch or TensorFlow, ROS/ROS2, robotics projects, embedded systems, industrial automation exposure, Edge AI deployment, and camera calibration and perception systems.
