Venture Capital Intern | Wall Street Oasis

The Tone:
This is a virtual internship at Wall Street Oasis, the largest career community focused on finance careers globally, serving over 1 million registered members and receiving 20 million annual visits. This highly selective program is designed to provide top students with hands-on experience and structured training, aiming to build stronger VC resumes and develop real venture-style research skills. The role is critical in identifying high-potential talent to be shared with WSO’s network of partner organizations.

• Mission: To gain hands-on venture capital experience through structured training and support partner organizations in their venture work.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Learn: Develop core skills in venture investing, encompassing fund structures, economics, roles, sourcing workflows, financial instruments like SAFEs and convertible notes, cap table modeling, and startup diligence.
• Pass: Complete training assessments covering venture investing fundamentals to advance to the experience and placement phase of the internship.
• Support: Assist partner organizations, including micro-VC funds and venture studios, with deal flow, sourcing activities, and initial screening processes.
• Research: Conduct in-depth market mapping, thesis research, and competitive landscape analysis to inform investment decisions and strategies.
• Evaluate: Prepare comprehensive startup evaluations, deal memos, diligence support materials, and investment committee (IC)-prep style briefs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student, including freshmen and sophomores, who are highly motivated and exploring careers in venture capital, startups, growth equity, or investing.
• Experience: No prior venture capital experience is required; performance in training assessments is the primary determinant for advancement.
• Skills: Strong research abilities, analytical thinking, capacity for quick learning, clear written communication, and the ability to work independently.
