Special Project Strategist Intern (TikTok Shop – Operations) – 2026 Summer (BS/ MS) | TikTok

The Tone:
This is a summer internship at TikTok, a company that builds the leading destination for short-form mobile video and is expanding rapidly into e-commerce. The role is part of the TikTok Shop US operation team, which aims to bring discovery, inspiration, and joy back to shopping by making TikTok the commerce channel of choice. Interns will gain industry exposure and hands-on experience, supporting the team in scaling the #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt phenomenon and pioneering content and creator commerce in the US. This internship is designed to offer students practical experience, develop fundamental skills, and explore potential career paths within an entrepreneurial team focused on shaping the future of shopping.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Support: Familiarize yourself with global e-commerce strategies and tactics, and support business leaders in disassembling project tasks, setting priorities, and adding value to the business team.
• Strategy Execution: Develop and execute comprehensive strategies, including goal and budget setting, and conduct performance reviews.
• Data Analysis: Conduct data analysis to evaluate merchandise and seller growth performance, identify trends, and make recommendations for optimization.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute the overall strategy.
• Communication & Coordination: Establish clear and efficient communication mechanisms with internal and external global partners, coordinating projects across systems and departments to improve overall efficiency.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Marketing, or a related field.
• Experience: Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2026, graduating December 2026 onwards with the intent to return to the degree program after the completion of the internship.
• Skills: Strong logical thinking, business analysis, systematic thinking, and critical thinking ability, coupled with robust learning, execution, stress resistance, communication, coordination, resource integration, and project management skills.
• Bonus: Interest in e-commerce business with prior internship experience in the industry, or a solid understanding of the industry landscape. Familiarity with TikTok and other content platforms, particularly experience in content-based e-commerce, and strong network connections with brands and/or retailers.
