Category Manager Intern (TikTok Shop – Operations) | TikTok
The Tone:
This is an internship at TikTok, for the US-based TikTok Shop operation team, potentially in a city like Los Angeles. TikTok is a leading destination for short-form mobile video, inspiring creativity and bringing joy to a global audience. This role is crucial for scaling the #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt phenomenon and pioneering content and creator commerce in the US, contributing to TikTok’s mission to make it the leading on-trend commerce platform for brands, creators, and shoppers. The intern will help build an innovative, secure, and intuitive e-commerce ecosystem.

• Mission: This role focuses on acquiring and incubating merchants to drive category growth and solve business challenges within TikTok’s e-commerce ecosystem.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Acquire and incubate merchants to support the growth of the category.
• Discover innovative collaborative models that align with merchants’ development plans and invest platform resources effectively.
• Solve key challenges in business growth through strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Employ a consultative approach by offering strategic content, creator/affiliate/agency partner, merchandising, and logistical solutions to all clients.
• Update clients on TikTok Shop product developments and new promotional opportunities.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing an MBA Degree; Student.
• Experience: Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2026.
• Skills: Quick learner, proactive, resilient, structured thinking, strong data sense, very strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and cross-team collaboration.
• Bonus: Internship or full-time experience in an e-commerce marketplace business or retail category management; Familiarity with the TikTok content ecosystem, shoppable content, and brand-creator partnerships.
