Data Science Intern (Advertisement Team) – 2026 Summer | TikTok

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at TikTok, a global company with headquarters in Los Angeles and Singapore, and additional offices worldwide. TikTok operates as the leading destination for short-form mobile video, with a core mission to inspire creativity and bring joy to its users. In this role, you will join the Monetization Products data science team, contributing to data-driven decision making. Your work will directly support driving monetization and sustainable revenue growth for TikTok through rigorous data science applications.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Solve Problems: Work with large and complex data sets to address a wide array of challenging problems using various analytical methods.
• Generate Insights: Design, analyze, and interpret insights across an entire project, from gathering data requirements to data processing, modeling, and providing impactful business recommendations.
• Identify Opportunities: Partner with cross-functional teams to identify new opportunities that necessitate the application of sophisticated analytical and modeling techniques.
• Conduct Experiments: Design, execute, and interpret the results of experiments, such as A/B testing, to inform decisions.
• Influence Strategy: Effectively communicate insights and recommendations to team leadership to influence strategic decision-making.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Statistics, Applied Math, Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Analytics. Candidates must be able to commit to a 12-week full-time work period during Summer 2026.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience with data querying and manipulation using tools like SQL, Python, or R. Practical experience performing data analysis in scripting languages such as R, Python, or Matlab is required.
• Skills: Strong analytical abilities to work with large and complex data sets. Capability to design, execute, and interpret results of experiments. Effective communication skills to convey insights and recommendations to leadership.
• Bonus: Prior internship or research experience in data science is preferred. Candidates should be agile, quick self-learners, highly self-motivated with a strong sense of product ownership, and creative problem solvers. Experience working with cross-functional teams is also a plus, along with being a good collaborator and team player comfortable in a globally distributed environment.
