Protocol Intern to the President | Melhem Holdings
The Tone:
This is an internship at Melhem Holdings, located in Washington, DC, with hybrid work options. This role is crucial for supporting the President’s daily protocol activities and ensuring smooth, strategically aligned engagements. What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: Prepare briefing materials and conduct background research on key partners and initiatives for the President.
• Organize: Organize meetings and coordinate schedules and logistics with high-level internal and external stakeholders.
• Execute: Assist with planning and executing formal engagements, events, and visits, ensuring proper protocols, etiquette, and documentation are observed.
• Draft: Draft correspondence, meeting notes, and presentations, and help maintain accurate records of interactions and commitments.
• Support: Monitor follow-up actions and support special projects that advance the President’s strategic priorities.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Current enrollment in or recent completion of a bachelor’s degree program in International Relations, Business, Political Science, Communications, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft clear, professional correspondence, briefs, and meeting summaries. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail in scheduling, logistics coordination, and record-keeping. Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and cultural sensitivity when interacting with senior leaders and external stakeholders. Research and analytical skills to prepare background materials, synthesize information, and support strategic decision-making. Proficiency with productivity and collaboration tools.
• Bonus: Prior internship or experience in a similar setting; interest in corporate governance, international relations, protocol, or executive support; proactive, adaptable, and resourceful mindset.
