2027 Tax Intern (Summer Internship) | myGwork – LGBTQ+ Business Community
The Tone:
This is a summer internship at Amazon, located in Seattle, WA. Amazon’s Global Tax team is searching for talented interns to contribute to the financial controllership, compliance, and operational efficiency of a large, global organization. This role offers a unique opportunity for students to gain practical, hands-on tax experience and lead projects from start to finish, learning directly from experienced tax professionals within the company.

• Pay: $80200–$92800 yearly
• Team: Amazon’s Global Tax team
• Mission: Gain hands-on tax experience and lead projects to contribute to controllership, compliance, and operational efficiency.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Support US Federal income tax reporting and compliance activities.
• Assist with processes related to Cross-Border Withholding Tax.
• Contribute to State and Local tax reporting requirements.
• Participate in US International Tax reporting and ASC 740 tax provision reporting.
• Own and deliver a tax-related project from beginning to end.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program or dual degree/sub-matriculation master’s degree program in Accounting (preferably a Tax track), with a graduation conferral date between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Experience: Must be 18 years of age or older and able to complete a 12-week internship between May and September 2027.
• Skills: Strong analytical abilities, capacity to dive deep into unfamiliar data, proficiency with new technology, and strong leadership, organizational, writing, and presentation skills.
• Bonus: Completion of first-year accounting curriculum, prior internship experience in tax or accounting, strong academic, leadership, and/or extracurricular record, effective interpersonal/written/oral communication, a track record of using data/metrics to make decisions and build scalable solutions, and the ability to act strategically and make decisions under ambiguity.
