The Tone:
This is a part-time, remote internship at Kelly Tutors, an edutainment-focused learning company. Kelly Tutors blends tutoring, classes, study skills, humor, and cultural commentary to create engaging experiences for kids and teens, helping them build and launch real businesses. This role is highly customized to an intern’s individual strengths, interests, and career goals, allowing them to contribute meaningfully to an organization recognized for high parent and student ratings, strong results, and media attention. The intern will play a key part in supporting the development of project-based, experiential education, which helps young people build confidence, entrepreneurial mindsets, and critical thinking in a fun, energetic environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Curriculum Development: Assist with the development of new educational curricula and programs tailored for kids and teens.
• Resource Creation: Create or refine a variety of worksheets, learning guides, and other instructional resources.
• Activity Design: Support the design and conceptualization of engaging entrepreneurship and financial literacy activities.
• Learning Material Improvement: Help test and improve innovative business simulators and educational games.
• Content Organization: Review and organize existing learning materials to ensure clarity and accessibility for students.
• Program Innovation: Contribute new ideas for developing programs or designing student projects.
• Operational Support: Contribute to light operational tasks, including documenting processes, drafting communications, and assisting with basic outreach and community engagement.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student, recent graduate, or non-US resident who possesses a keen interest in education, youth development, or entrepreneurship, with enthusiasm for engaging, project-based learning for kids and teens. They should also embody a creative, curious mindset and a willingness to experiment and contribute new ideas.
• Experience: A self-directed individual who demonstrates an entrepreneurial mindset, having either built or run something, or possessing a strong desire to do so. Reliability, professionalism, and respect for diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and learning styles are also essential.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and age-appropriately. The role requires organizational and time management abilities, comfort with basic online tools, and a willingness to learn new systems as needed.
• Bonus: Prior experience working with children or teens (tutoring, mentoring, camps, clubs, or similar) is a plus. A background in education, business, psychology, communications, or a related field (formal study or self-directed learning) is beneficial. Eligibility to receive academic credits for internships, and being based in a US state (excluding California, New York, or Washington DC) or entirely outside the US, are preferred qualifications. An opinion on what good design looks like and the ability to defend it is also a plus.
