Research & Development Intern | GenScript

The Tone:
This is a Summer Research & Development Internship at GenScript, located in Piscataway, NJ. GenScript is a global biotechnology group, founded in 2002, with an established presence across North America, Europe, the Greater China, and Asia Pacific. The company operates in four major categories: Life Science CRO, enzyme and synthetic biology products, biologics development and manufacturing, and cell therapy, all underpinned by its leading gene synthesis technology. This role offers students currently pursuing an Undergrad/Grad degree the opportunity to gain professional experience and augment their classroom instruction through exposure to a real-world employment setting within the Molecular Biology R&D group, contributing to the company’s vision of making humans and nature healthier through biotechnology.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lab Support: Assist Research & Development team members with their daily tasks within the lab.
• Production Contribution: Support activities directly related to gene production processes.
• Technical Application: Apply basic molecular techniques under guidance within the R&D environment.
• Operational Aid: Contribute to the general organization and maintenance of the laboratory space.
• Workflow Assistance: Collaborate with team members to facilitate the smooth execution of research and development projects.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Program within Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
• Experience: Basic understanding of wet lab principles and guidelines; Basic understanding of different molecular techniques.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, a strong sense of responsibility, a proactive work attitude, effective time management, and organizational skills.
