Pre Grad Intern – Sam’s | Sam’s Club
The Tone:
This is a part-time pre-grad intern role at Sam’s Club, located in Thornton, CO. Sam’s Club, as part of a large retail organization, provides a wide array of products and services to its members, including vital pharmacy care. This role is essential for supporting the efficient operation of the pharmacy department, ensuring members receive accurate and confidential health services, and contributing to a positive shopping experience while gaining valuable practical experience in a retail pharmacy setting.

• Mission: To assist with pharmacy operations, provide member services, and ensure the accurate and confidential delivery of pharmacy products and services in compliance with regulations.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Ensure Compliance: Maintain strict confidentiality of all information, documentation, and records in adherence to Company policies, as well as local, State, and Federal guidelines.
• Support Pharmacy Operations: Assist with processing prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) orders and purchases, stock and secure pharmacy supplies, enter prescription information, fill prescriptions, and complete all required paperwork.
• Deliver Member Service: Provide direct service to members by acknowledging their presence, identifying needs, assisting with purchasing decisions, resolving issues, and promoting products and services within a safe environment.
• Manage Inventory & Presentation: Receive and stock merchandise, organize and maintain the pharmacy area, ensure proper handling of claims and returns, identify shrink and damages, and set up product displays.
• Operate Point-of-Sale: Utilize cash registers and related tools to process member purchases accurately, applying appropriate procedures for different payment types and items sold.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student, currently enrolled in an accredited Pharmacy school.
• Experience: No specific prior professional experience required, but current enrollment in an accredited Pharmacy school implies foundational knowledge.
• Skills: Confidentiality management, Member service, Prescription processing assistance, Inventory and merchandising organization, Cash register operation.
• Bonus: Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification
