Intern – College Partnerships (26-27) | IDEA Public Schools

The Tone:
This is a part-time remote internship at IDEA Public Schools, a K-12 public charter school network committed to ensuring all students achieve success in college and in life. The organization empowers students and families by connecting them with robust postsecondary opportunities. This role is vital for supporting counselors, alumni managers, students, and families by assisting with college partner resources, data tracking, FERPA documentation, and key project execution, directly contributing to IDEA’s overarching mission to guide students to and through college.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Maintain: Update college partner directories, campus visit information, shared resources, and trackers for counselors and alumni managers.
• Support: Assist with analysis of college partner application, acceptance, commitment, and alumni data trends to inform strategic decisions.
• Audit: Review FERPA waiver documentation and manage waiver campaign trackers and OneDrive folders to facilitate alumni data requests.
• Execute: Support special projects related to college partner engagement, student matriculation, and alumni success initiatives.
• Coordinate: Assist with the logistics for in-person and virtual college partner visits, meetings, and all related communications.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student pursuing higher education, with core domain knowledge in college admissions processes or student support services.
• Experience: Demonstrated knowledge in using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Strong prior experience in customer service roles. Proven ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Skills: Makes strategic decisions by gathering reliable information, asking clarifying questions, and aligning choices with team objectives and the broader organizational mission. Manages work by setting clear, measurable goals, prioritizing tasks with a task management system, and consistently meeting deadlines through effective time management. Demonstrates self-awareness, actively seeks and thoughtfully responds to feedback with a growth mindset, and pursues opportunities to build knowledge and skills. Builds a culture of trust by fostering psychological safety and respectful relationships, engaging in direct and compassionate feedback. Communicates clearly and professionally, delivering concise messages tailored to the audience, actively listening, and following up to ensure shared understanding.
• Bonus: Completion of at least 60 college credit hours is preferred. Prior affiliation as an IDEA alumnus is highly valued. Advanced Excel proficiency or strong overall technological competence. Demonstrated planning, organizing, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. A propensity for action, willingness to learn by doing, and the ability to improve quickly through feedback.
