Job Description

About the Role
This role provides evaluation of and care for respiratory therapy patients consistent with student scope of practice.

What You’ll Do
• Administer medications and treatments to patients under appropriate supervision.
• Deliver and assess patient response to ordered therapy.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.
• Provide patient education for diseases, medications, and treatment.
• May respond to Medical Emergencies and Rapid Responses.
• Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

You’re a Good Fit If You
• Are enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy program.
• No experience required.
• Are able to constantly use speech for oral communication, stand, and walk.
• Are able to frequently lift/carry and push/pull objects weighing 0-25 lbs, sit, reach, and use keyboard/data entry.
• Are able to frequently use vision, depth perception, smell, and hearing to perform duties.
• Are able to occasionally lift/carry and push/pull objects weighing 25-50 lbs, lift/move patients, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, grip, and perform repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
• Are able to occasionally drive.
• Are able to meet state-specific licensure requirements:
• For Missouri: Possess Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA) And Respiratory Educ Permit – Missouri Division of Professional Registration.
• For Oklahoma: Possess Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA) And Letter of Acknowledgment of Receipt of Application for Provisional Respiratory Care Practitioner – Oklahoma Medical Board Or Provisional Respiratory Care Therapist – Oklahoma Medical Board.
