Project Intern – Sports Content Operations

About the Role
This project intern role is part of the TikTok Search Operations Team, which focuses on end-to-end search growth and experience optimization, including trending content campaigns, AI capability implementation, and strategy design, while exploring the integration of large models with search. The internship aims to provide hands-on experience in impactful short-term projects, fostering fundamental skills and professional growth in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do
• Monitor global sports breaks (NBA, UEFA, F1, etc.) and breaking news; execute end-to-end trending topics, from content packaging to landing page optimization.
• Curate and manage multi-format content assets (text, images, video) to ensure high-quality, timely updates across in-app sports channels.
• Coordinate with product, design, and localized teams to ensure seamless execution of sports campaigns and feature updates.
• Track sports communities and social media trends to identify emerging memes and user interests for content inspiration.

You’re a Good Fit If You
• Are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (all majors welcome)
• Are a passionate sports fan with strong knowledge of football, basketball, or other mainstream/emerging sports; familiar with athletes, sports culture, tactics, and community memes/discourse;
• Have strong execution skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced trending-content environment;
• Are available to work on-site at least 4 days per week;
• Have proficiency in English, and fluency in written and spoken Mandarin is needed to manage stakeholders in China market.

Bonus Qualifications
• Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude; prompt engineering experience is a plus.

Role Highlights & Compensation
• The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $25- $25.
• Interns have day one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits and more.
• Interns also receive 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in first half of year, 40 if hired in second half of year).
• Interns who are not working 100% remote may also be eligible for housing allowance.
• Successful candidates must be able to commit to work on-site at least 4 days per week.
• Successful candidates must be able to commit to at least 3 months long internship period, with immediate availability preferred.
