What You’ll Actually Do
• System Architecture: Lead the design and implementation of highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and performant backend services and APIs.
• Code Development: Write clean, efficient, and testable code in Go, Java, Python, or C# for critical backend components.
• Distributed Systems Optimization: Develop and optimize systems using distributed messaging, databases, and caching technologies.
• Performance & Reliability: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring low latency and high throughput for services, and implement robust monitoring solutions.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, actively participating in code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to architectural guidelines.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Senior-level backend software development with a strong focus on distributed systems.
• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development, with proven experience designing, building, and operating high-scale distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Skills: Expert-level proficiency in at least one modern backend language such as Go, Java, Python, or C#. Deep understanding and hands-on experience with both relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, DynamoDB). Experience with message brokers and event streaming platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS). Experience deploying and managing services on public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and a strong command of RESTful API design and implementation.
• Bonus: Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, knowledge of system performance analysis, experience working in an agile environment, or contributions to open-source projects.
