What You’ll Actually Do
• Design: Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex backend microservices and APIs using modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Collaborate: Work closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and other cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Architecture: Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions, helping to shape the future of the technical stack and infrastructure.
• Mentor: Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning, growth, and continuous improvement within the team.
• Optimize: Drive performance optimization, scalability improvements, and reliability enhancements for existing and new systems.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience in backend software development.
• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development, with a strong focus on building scalable web services and APIs, and proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Skills: Expert proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language (Python, Java, Go, Node.js); extensive experience with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB) databases; deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and asynchronous programming; strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design principles, and software design patterns; familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Bonus: Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; experience with specific frameworks like Spring Boot, Django, Flask, or Express.js; familiarity with message queues and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS); experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation); experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
