About the Job: Florida Blue PEBS Program
This program is exclusively for Baker County High School Students.
Program Background
Florida Blue established the Partners in Education for Business Success (PEBS) program in 1991. The program aims to provide junior and senior business-track high school students with hands-on experience in a real business environment, while also increasing their knowledge of health care. Florida Blue seeks to develop highly skilled workers through PEBS who can potentially continue their involvement with the company after graduation.
Required Work Experience & Qualifications
- 0-1 year of related work experience or equivalent combination of transferable experience and education.
- Current High School Student.
- Achieves acceptable 2.5 GPA.
- No disciplinary issues.
- Familiarity with general computer hardware and software.
Program Objectives
- To demonstrate commitment to community involvement and populations of area high schools.
- To prepare participants for a corporate environment and culture.
- To develop participants’ foundational business skills.
- To develop a pipeline of potential full-time employees.
- To expand sources for qualified applicants.
- To fill entry-level positions and provide the possibility of a continuing relationship with Florida Blue after graduation.
Participant Eligibility
- Have and maintain a minimum cumulative state GPA of 2.5.
- Be at least 15 years of age and in the 11th or 12th grade.
- Provide three recommendations from teachers or school administrators.
- Have an outstanding attendance and student behavioral record.
Application Process
The PEBS High School application process requires submitting a completed student information packet and applying online via the Florida Blue website.
Essential Functions
- Timely and accurate processing of claims via Diamond and Claims Connect.
- Perform online edit resolution of claims.
- Key provider claims (Institutional and Professional).
- Meet departmental production and quality standards.
- Identify, document, and share knowledge for improvement to processes and products.
General Physical Demands
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.

Financial Wellbeing:
We offer competitive pay as well as opportunities for incentive or commission compensation. We also conduct regular annual reviews with pay for performance considerations for base pay increases.
