Job Overview
DRS Space Systems, part of Leonardo DRS’s Electro Optical Infrared Systems (EOIS) line of business in Cypress, CA, is seeking an Engineering Student to join their team. This role focuses on developing advanced space mission payloads, leveraging cutting-edge electro-optical and infrared space sensors, instruments, and software for key domestic and international allied customers. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct limited scope testing under the direct supervision of engineers.
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently and on time.
- Gather and assemble data for engineers to use in their projects.
- Perform design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of engineers.
- Assist engineers by providing appropriate design details.
- Undertake a variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methodologies, programs, and general practices of the department.
- Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Must currently be an actively enrolled engineering student.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOD security clearance within a reasonable time after commencing employment is mandatory.
Schedule
This position operates on a 9/80 work schedule.
Salary & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $21.44/hour – $29.48/hour. This range is an estimate and may vary based on factors such as federal contract labor categories, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope and responsibilities of the position, local market conditions, internal equity, and the candidate’s qualifications (e.g., prior experience, specific skills, education/training, and certifications).
