What to Expect: The 12-Month Sales Trainee Program
The Sales Trainee Program is an intensive 12-month journey meticulously designed to accelerate your sales career through guided development and hands-on learning. This program provides unparalleled exposure to different areas of the business, opportunities to shadow key partners, and formalized mentorship.

- Learn:
- Participate in workshops, programs, and other learning opportunities to significantly enhance your sales skills and industry knowledge.
- Engage actively in training sessions to deeply understand the company’s products, services, sales techniques, and processes.
- Shadow:
- Shadow experienced sales professionals to observe their interactions with clients, learn effective sales strategies, and master negotiation techniques.
- Observe the entire sales process, from prospecting for new leads to successfully closing deals, including customer relationship management and crucial post-sale support.
- Develop:
- Actively seek feedback from mentors, supervisors, and peers to continuously enhance your skills and performance.
- Participate in performance evaluations and assessments designed to track your progress, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and set clear goals for your professional development.

Program Graduation
Upon successful completion of this comprehensive program, graduates will seamlessly transition into one of Ferguson’s diverse sales destination roles. Final placement decisions are thoughtfully made based on a combination of individual preferences and the specific needs of the business.
Responsibilities
As a Sales Trainee, you will:
- Provide essential support to the sales team in various tasks, including outlining project tasks and timelines, prospecting for new leads, and diligently handling customer inquiries.
- Assist in the development of compelling sales proposals, contracts, and other critical documentation required for successfully closing deals.
- Support sales projects and initiatives by coordinating tasks, tracking progress diligently, and ensuring the timely completion of all deliverables.
- Interact professionally with customers to understand their unique needs, address inquiries promptly, and provide comprehensive information about products or services.
- Capture valuable feedback from customers to identify areas for improvement and continuously enhance the overall customer experience.
- Take the initiative to learn new sales techniques, cutting-edge tools, and emerging technologies that can significantly contribute to your success in the role.
Qualifications
We are looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; 1-3 years of relevant experience will be accepted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
- Exhibit a strong desire to be in a sales-focused role and a genuine eagerness to learn about Ferguson’s products, services, sales technologies, and processes.
- Innately self-motivated with a consistent track record of driving results.
- Possess a natural penchant for assisting customers and addressing their needs effectively.
- Demonstrate an ability to be flexible and open to change in a dynamic environment.
- Previous professional experiences or internships in Sales, preferred.
