The Tone:
This is an internship at HelloFresh, located in New York, NY (Hybrid). This role is crucial for ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting audit procedures, and contributing to efficiency initiatives within the accounting department. It offers a unique opportunity for an intern to gain hands-on experience and develop advanced financial skills.

The TL;DR

• Mission: To gain comprehensive exposure to various aspects of accounting, support month-end close processes, contribute to audit readiness, and participate in automation and efficiency projects.
• Tech Stack: Oracle General Ledger, Blackline, Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Month-End Accounting: Support the execution of journal entries and reconciliations within Oracle General Ledger and Blackline across various financial statement line items and intercompany transactions.
• Accounts Payable and Receivable: Perform three-way matching to process vendor invoices and efficiently review vendor inquiries, collaborating with internal teams for issue resolution.
• Workflow Automation: Identify operational bottlenecks and develop innovative automations for workpaper preparation, contributing to AI strategies for improved reporting accuracy.
• Financial Statement Audit: Assist with critical PBC (Prepared By Client) management and sample testing procedures during the H1 audit process.
• Analytical Analysis: Provide essential support in preparing detailed P&L (Profit & Loss) and Balance Sheet fluctuation analyses.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related business field.
• Experience: Proficient and comfortable working with various Excel functions and pivot tables.
• Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical aptitude, skilled cross-functional communication, and a self-starter mentality.
• Bonus: Intention to pursue CPA certification.
