About The Respiratory Care Department

Our Respiratory Care Department is dedicated to providing comprehensive respiratory therapy services to patients of all ages. Our team of skilled respiratory therapists works collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care, including advanced diagnostic testing, therapeutic interventions, and patient education. We utilize the latest technology and evidence-based practices to manage and treat a wide range of respiratory conditions, ensuring our patients receive the best possible outcomes. Scope of Work and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of an assigned preceptor and/or the license of their Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapy graduate will:

  • Implement and evaluate diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory services to assist physicians in the diagnosis and management of patients with cardiopulmonary and related disorders.
  • Participate in the education of patients regarding their respiratory conditions and treatment plans.
  • Provide technical support for all equipment related to the practice of Respiratory Care.
  • Assist patients of all ages with acute and chronic illness in returning to a productive lifestyle.

Qualifications

  • Education: Required Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  • NBRC Status: Eligible for position after attainment of RRT NBRC status. Required.
  • Licensure: LIC-Respiratory Therapist – STATE_MI (State of Michigan) within 90 days. Required.
  • Certifications:
    • CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry – NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care) within 90 days. Required.
    • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA (American Heart Association) Upon Hire. Required. OR
    • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – ARC (American Red Cross) Upon Hire. Required.
