Ashford (NYSE American: AINC) is a leading provider of asset management and other services to companies within the hospitality industry. We are seeking an enthusiastic Business Intelligence Intern to join our team in Dallas, Texas.
This role offers a vital opportunity to contribute to the development and maintenance of current and future BI products. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for excellence, meticulous attention to detail, and a deep understanding of data. As a BI Intern, you will be instrumental in supporting all phases of development and maintenance, from initial design and documentation to testing, validation, end-user support, and ongoing system updates. You will also be responsible for data gathering, strategic analysis, and fulfilling various ad hoc requests.
General Job Functions & Responsibilities
- Assist with the strategic design of new reporting and analytical tools to help the company and its end-users achieve operational objectives.
- Interface directly with Asset Management department subject matter experts to build relationships and meet evolving BI needs, while documenting business rules and use cases for new and existing BI output.
- Attend development & implementation sessions, contributing to the overall design of new and existing BI outputs as well as ensuring the validity of the data being used.
- Perform strategic reporting and analysis, both scheduled and ad hoc, utilizing Asset Management subject matter experts for guidance to deliver an end product with exceptional quality and accuracy.
- Utilize coding languages, specifically focusing on data analysis and query extraction, to support various job requirements.
- Complete other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in an analytical field (e.g., finance, economics).
- PowerBI experience preferred.
- Python knowledge / experience preferred.
- R knowledge / experience preferred.
- SQL knowledge / experience preferred.
- Ability to produce high-quality work within a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
