Materials Testing Technician | Terracon

What You’ll Actually Do
• Perform essential compliance testing on a range of construction materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel, both on project sites and within laboratory settings.
• Travel to various project sites using company-provided trucks and ensure the safe transport of samples back to the laboratory.
• Operate field laptops for the immediate tabulation, preparation, and submission of accurate digital reports directly to the Terracon Project Manager.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper working order of all assigned equipment, company vehicles, and designated work areas.
• Strictly adhere to all company safety standards and protocols, conducting pre-task planning, and reporting any safety concerns promptly to management while upholding quality standards across all projects.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career position requiring a high school diploma or equivalent education for foundational knowledge in the construction materials testing domain.
• Experience: Entry-level role focused on learning and assisting with fundamental testing and observation duties under close supervision.
• Skills: Demonstrated strong communication skills for effective daily interactions with project managers, engineering technicians, and contractor representatives; possession of a valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history is required for operating company vehicles.
