Jr. Business Development Officer – Conventional / SBA 504
POSITION: Jr. CRE Lender
LOCATIONS: AZ, UT, CA, TX, FL, GA, OR
HOURS: Monday-Friday
POSITION MISSION:
We are seeking motivated Jr. Business Development Officers to spearhead the origination of all types of Commercial Real Estate (CRE) lending, including owner-occupied, investor, construction, SBA, and Bridge CRE lending. Your core mission is to drive growth and create opportunities by strategically connecting borrowers, brokers, and other key centers of influence with the essential financing, resources, and support they need to thrive. This role is pivotal in expanding our institution’s loan portfolio through the origination, structuring, and successful closing of high-quality SBA and CRE loans. It seamlessly blends relationship management, market development, and deal sourcing expertise to consistently deliver loan production that aligns with the company’s stringent credit and profitability objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Loan Origination and Structuring:
- Source, structure, and originate CRE and SBA loans that consistently meet company credit standards.
- Conduct initial deal qualification, meticulously evaluating borrower financials and collateral to ensure perfect alignment with the company’s underwriting policy.
- Partner collaboratively with underwriting and closing teams to guarantee a smooth, efficient, and timely funding process.
- Build and proactively manage a healthy deal pipeline, consistently meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual loan production goals.
- Provide invaluable feedback to leadership regarding emerging market opportunities, potential product enhancements, and competitive positioning within the industry.
Business Development and Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain robust, strong relationships with new commercial real estate developers, brokers, other industry professionals, and existing clients to generate continuous sales leads and foster long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Leverage both existing and new professional networks to produce significant results on a national level.
- Actively attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to effectively promote the company’s diverse range of loan programs.
- Educate clients and partners comprehensively on company loan products and available financing options.
Team Collaboration:
- Actively contribute to the development of best practices, comprehensive training materials, and streamlined internal processes that significantly enhance team efficiency and knowledge sharing.
- Work closely and strategically with marketing and credit departments to effectively increase the pipeline size and optimize the deal close rate.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture that is deeply aligned with the company’s overarching mission and core values.
PERFORMANCE METRICS:
- Annual loan production volume and percentage of self-sourcing.
- Quality of loan submissions and overall approval rate.
- Growth in referral network and active pipeline.
- Client satisfaction and retention rates.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Junior BDO: 1-2 years of sales experience specifically in the CRE and SBA field.
- Strong interest in the financial services industry and a genuine desire to develop a successful career in a sales function.
- Excellent business development, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data, identify key risk factors, understand CRE financing structures, and make sound recommendations accordingly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate recommendations effectively and persuasively.
- A self-starter with the innate ability to work independently and consistently achieve challenging sales targets.
