The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at BioMarin, located in Novato, CA, for an on-site or hybrid role. BioMarin is dedicated to developing innovative therapies, and this role is crucial for enhancing the backbone of its Value Chain Management (VCM) operations. The intern will directly improve the quality, consistency, and usability of critical organizational documents and data sources, ensuring that vital information like Product Strategy documents and Product Health reports are accurate and accessible across the organization. This project-focused internship offers a unique opportunity to apply analytical and organizational skills to real-world challenges.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Enhance VCM Operations: Contribute to the quality, consistency, and usability of critical organizational documents and data sources within Value Chain Management.
• Rectify Data Discrepancies: Identify and correct data inconsistencies, ensuring accuracy and accessibility of information.
• Standardize Trackers: Transform existing operational trackers into efficient, consistent digital formats for greater efficiency.
• Develop Documentation Guide: Create a robust framework and guidelines to ensure long-term documentation integrity and standardization.
• Apply Analytical Skills: Utilize analytical and organizational skills to address real-world operational challenges and provide actionable recommendations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field, or graduated within one year of the internship start.
• Experience: Demonstrated academic background or genuine interest in operations, supply chain management, or data analytics, with proficiency in adhering to standard operating procedures and maintaining rigorous document version control.
• Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for pivot tables, lookups, and foundational modeling, and PowerPoint), strong data analysis acumen for discerning trends and synthesizing findings, effective communication, and robust organizational capabilities for meticulous recordkeeping.
• Bonus: Experience supporting operational or supply chain processes through coursework or projects, familiarity with product lifecycle or operations planning concepts, experience with data cleaning or validation using tools like Power BI, exposure to collaboration platforms like SharePoint or Teams, and a curiosity for process improvement.
