Business Office Peer Leader | CarMax

• Location: In-person, Winston-Salem, NC
• Team: Leads Business Office Associates within the Business Office, reporting to a manager
• Mission: Lead the business office workflow, process sales paperwork, manage cash, and provide exceptional customer service
• Tech Stack: Word processing, spreadsheet, other programs
What You’ll Actually Do
• Associate Mentorship: Mentor Business Office Associates, assisting with their professional development and training.
• Workflow Leadership: Direct daily business office operations, delegate tasks, resolve transaction questions, and address customer issues as the rotating “Manager on Duty.”
• Sales Paperwork Management: Process and audit retail automobile sales paperwork, including finance contracts, vehicle registration, titling, and daily report maintenance.
• Financial Operations: Manage cash transactions, including receiving, counting, distributing funds, preparing deposits, and securely handling the safe.
• Customer Service Excellence: Provide clear explanations of the paperwork process and answer customer questions to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Demonstrated ability to perform supervisory tasks within an administrative and customer service-focused environment.
• Experience: Preferred experience includes 3 years of customer-facing work and 1 year of supervisory work.
• Skills: Effectively delegate and follow up on tasks; Make decisions using independent and sound judgment; Professionally resolve customer and associate issues; Utilize word processing, spreadsheet, and other programs with intermediate PC skills; Adapt and prioritize tasks in a high-energy work environment.
• Bonus: Ability to assist in the hiring process by attending job fairs and performing interviews in partnership with a manager.
