Looking for an opportunity where success comes naturally? Then you may have found your crew. We’re looking for a Landscape Development Intern to join our team.
About the Internship Program
Our internship program is designed to prepare you for leadership positions both on and off the jobsite. This comprehensive program provides exposure across various operational divisions, giving you invaluable hands-on experience in landscape construction, project engineering, and field management.
Interns will gain practical experience both in the field and in the office, supporting key functions such as estimating, preconstruction, and project coordination efforts. This rotational structure allows you to learn about multiple career paths within our organization.
Key Rotational Experiences
The internship rotational will include, but not be limited to, the following core areas:
- Landscape & Safety:
- Assisting field supervision with daily project coordination.
- Learning proper handling and installation techniques for plant materials, hardscape elements, and irrigation systems.
- Monitoring quality control standards on projects.
- Supporting jobsite safety initiatives and safe equipment operation.
- Tracking field production quantities and progress.
- Estimating & Preconstruction:
- Gathering, calculating, and compiling quantity take-off data.
- Assembling bid proposal estimates for various projects.
- Assisting with change order pricing.
- Soliciting and coordinating subcontractor/vendor quotes.
- Supporting cost tracking efforts to maintain project budgets.
- Project Coordination:
- Working alongside a Project Manager to manage document control, including RFIs (Requests for Information), submittals, change orders, billings, field production tracking, purchasing documentation, and contract administration.
- Assisting with the scheduling of materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Participating actively in team meetings and project planning sessions.
Qualifications You Bring
You might be a good fit if you are:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Horticulture or related disciplines such as Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Management, Agriculture-Business, Landscape Design, or Plant Science.
- Ability to commit to a 12-week internship program.
Bonus Skills (Not Mandatory, But Valued)
While not mandatory, it would be great if you also have:
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A strong work ethic and a genuine interest in field-based operations.
- Proficiency with computer software programs, including MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
