What You’ll Actually Do
• Vehicle Movement: Move heavy-duty vehicles within the yard, wash bay, service shop, or deliver them to the rental shop.
• Vehicle Servicing: Wash and detail vehicles, fuel diesel, natural gas, and hybrid vehicles, and record all fuel activity while maintaining proper fuel and DEF inventories.
• Inspections: Perform multi-point inspections on inbound units, which includes checking tire pressure, fluid levels, lights, and reporting any service or driver issues to the shop.
• Facility Maintenance: Maintain the fuel island area to company standards and perform minor maintenance tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
• Training Completion: Attend and complete all Technician Training Development Program requirements and assessments, covering service island tasks, preventive maintenance, tire work, tools, heavy-duty electrical systems, and air and hydraulic brakes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Experience: Zero to one (1) year mechanical experience working with diesel engines preferred, along with a track record of performance and good attendance.
• Skills: Proficiency in English written and verbal communication, demonstrated customer service skills, strong technical aptitude, ability to work independently and as a team, and basic computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment.
• Bonus: Beginner level knowledge of machines, tools, and shop management systems, valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred. Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire and pass Ryder’s drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check.
