Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute IMC Unit
Employment Type: Part-time / 24 hours weekly
Shift: Rotating Shift – with weekend and holiday rotation
Location: Silver Spring, Maryland
Position Purpose
Reporting to the Director, the IMC Registered Nurse must demonstrate the passion to provide bedside care to a diverse and acutely ill population of patients. The Registered Nurse should possess the knowledge and skill of how-to safely apply the nursing process to assess, plan and evaluate the care of patients with various health conditions.
Unit Overview
This 30-bed unit provides care for high-acuity patients across a wide spectrum of complex specialties. Comorbidities are diverse and patients often require cardiac telemetry monitoring and/or mechanical ventilator support.
- Unit equipped with two negative pressure rooms and patient lift assist equipment in all rooms.
- On-site Nurse educator.
- Acute/Critical Care course for nurses who are new to the acute, in-patient population.
As a Registered Nurse You Will
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.
- Ability to communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of patient.
- Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
- Administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.
- Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes.
- Design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with healthcare team.
- Educates patients and family throughout stay and in preparation for discharge.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree required (BSN preferred). Note: If the BSN or MSN degree is not present on hire, the employee must sign an agreement to obtain it within a specific time frame.
- Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
- BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association).
- Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
- Competency in electronic patient management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN or MSN preferred.
- At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting highly preferred. Will take a graduate nurse and train.

Pay Range: $38.92 – $55.68. Pay is based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
