• Mission: To perform imaging examinations that produce optimal high-quality images with minimal radiation exposure to patients and operators.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Imaging Examinations: Perform imaging examinations precisely according to physicians’ orders, utilizing a variety of sophisticated imaging equipment.
• Clinical Judgment: Apply extensive clinical knowledge and judgment for proper positioning factors, radiation dose calibration of technique, and necessary patient treatment to produce optimal high-quality images.
• Patient Care: Integrate individual patients’ unique and/or age-related needs into the planning and execution of all imaging procedures.
• Radiation Safety: Conduct all examinations with minimal radiation exposure to both patients and operators, strictly adhering to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.
• Diverse Procedures: Gain experience and contribute across a wide range of radiologic specialties, including surgical imaging, fluoroscopic and invasive procedures, and portable and outpatient imaging in various hospital departments.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Completion of an educational program sufficient to meet the requirements for radiography certification, licensing, or registration.
• Experience: No specific prior experience is stated as required; new graduates are eligible and supported in obtaining permanent licensure.
• Skills:
• Oregon Radiographer License or Oregon Radiographer Temporary License upon hire.
• National Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 6 months (180 days) of hire.
• National Provider BLS – American Heart Association upon hire.
• Clinical knowledge and judgment for proper positioning, radiation dose calibration, and patient treatment.
