Credit Counselor (Bilingual) – Part-Time | MLGW

This Credit Counselor role is crucial for ensuring customers understand and comply with billing and credit policies, assisting them in managing their accounts, and maintaining positive customer relations for vital services. The position helps customers navigate financial challenges while upholding the company’s operational standards.

• Mission: Advise customers on credit policies, resolve billing and service issues, and manage account statuses and service connections.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Customer Advisory: Advise customers on MLGW’s credit, billing, service, and deposit policies, and offer solutions for bill payment problems and ways to save on utility bills.
• Account & Credit Management: Research and discuss delinquent accounts, grant or refuse credit extensions on unpaid balances, and assist customers in setting up extended payment plans.
• Deposit & Contract Oversight: Determine and manage commercial and residential deposits, ensuring proper identification for residents and signed contracts for commercial accounts.
• Service Order Processing: Originate service connections, release blocked accounts, block accounts when investigations warrant, and process service disconnections.
• Financial Adjustments: Compute, pro-rate, and adjust customer bills, prepare refunds for deposits or overpayments, and reinstate charge-offs, credits, and debits.

• Background: Professionals dedicated to providing essential customer support and financial guidance for utility services.
• Experience: Experience in customer service, handling billing inquiries, managing credit extensions, and processing service orders.
• Skills: Fluency in Spanish in Areas 520830, 520870, 520840, and 520850; successful completion of a Customer Service Simulation Test; successful completion of Division Data Entry Exercises, Group C; a valid driver’s license from the state of residence.
