What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Sessions: Actively observe, co-facilitate, or independently facilitate individual and group counseling sessions across various school settings, with responsibility tailored to your developing proficiency and skill.
• Youth Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments on youth engaged in Youth Guidance programs, contributing to individualized care plans and program evaluation efforts.
• Crisis & Family Support: Provide critical family and crisis intervention services as needed, demonstrating responsiveness and employing effective de-escalation techniques in challenging situations.
• Documentation: Accurately complete all weekly required documentation, including progress notes, service logs, and other administrative assignments crucial for compliance and client record-keeping.
• Professional Growth: Actively participate in weekly supervision sessions, monthly team meetings, and mandatory staff development initiatives to ensure continuous learning and adherence to best practices.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrollment in an accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field, specifically requiring an internship, practicum, or capstone for academic credit. This role is designed for students seeking a hands-on learning experience that meets rigorous academic requirements.
• Experience: Readiness to apply developing proficiency and skills in direct, face-to-face client interaction, with a strong commitment to learning and professional growth within a structured supervisory environment.
• Skills: Competency in case management and therapeutic techniques, ability to conduct comprehensive assessments, provide crisis intervention and de-escalation, and maintain accurate administrative documentation.
