• Mission: This role is responsible for full life-cycle project accounting and providing strategic financial insights to drive performance for client programs.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Accounting: Manage the full life-cycle of project accounting for 6-8 separate client programs, encompassing setup, ongoing maintenance, and closeout, while ensuring accuracy and consistency across all accounts and compliance with accounting standards.
• Financial Reporting: Build and maintain detailed financial models and reports in Microsoft Excel, conducting thorough financial analysis to track performance metrics, identify key trends, analyze variances against budgets, and present findings to leadership teams.
• Billing & Revenue: Prepare and process client billing and invoicing, ensuring strict compliance with all contract terms, and manage the preparation and submission of monthly revenue recognition entries.
• Strategic Support: Serve as a trusted financial advisor to Project Managers and leadership, providing strategic financial insights, proactively identifying and raising issues in an evolving environment, and promptly responding to ad-hoc financial data requests.
• Vendor & Internal Coordination: Support comprehensive vendor management and contract-related financial oversight, which includes coordinating directly with vendors and various internal teams to efficiently resolve billing or contract-related issues.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related field, complemented by a strong understanding of technical accounting principles and corporate finance practices.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in accounting, finance, or other analytical roles. This includes practical familiarity with invoicing processes, managing contracts, and performing revenue recognition tasks.
• Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, financial modeling, and complex formulas), demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights, and excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
• Bonus: Knowledge and prior experience with ERP or accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite is preferred.
