The Tone:
Puget Sound Energy (PSE) provides electricity and natural gas to the region and is known for its award-winning energy efficiency programs. This is a seasonal internship within PSE’s Environmental Services team, located in Snoqualmie, WA. The role is crucial for educating the public about the Snoqualmie Falls Hydroelectric Project, PSE’s history, and its role in the community. This position offers real-world experience, enhancing technical and communication skills while offering insight into PSE’s utility environment, playing an integral role in serving customers, neighboring communities, and the environment.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Seasonal (between Memorial Day and Labor Day, Wednesday through Sunday, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM)
• Location: Snoqualmie, WA (In-person)
• Pay: $20–$25 hourly
• Team: Environmental Services team
• Mission: To welcome visitors to the Snoqualmie Falls Hydroelectric Museum, provide educational experiences, and promote sustained facility visitations while ensuring a positive and safe experience.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Visitor Engagement: Provide tours and presentations to diverse public audiences at the Snoqualmie Falls Hydroelectric Museum.
• Educational Interpretation: Implement and interpret facility educational materials and exhibits for visitors, emphasizing education and safety.
• Historical Communication: Deliver authentic and consistent information regarding Puget Sound Energy’s history and its role in the community.
• Outreach & Promotion: Focus on outreach to targeted audiences, including educational organizations, to promote and sustain facility visitations.
• VIP Hosting: Host special visitors and public officials when required, ensuring a positive and informative experience.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled as a Sophomore or higher in History, Museum Studies, Parks and Recreation Management, or a related area of study.
• Experience: Prior experience interacting with the public and comfort presenting a variety of materials to new audiences.
• Skills: Excellent communication skills, strong work ethic, initiative, motivation, and ability to work well in a team environment.
• Bonus: Ability to learn unfamiliar content in a specific timeframe, prior tour, museum, or visitor center experience, or experience in Heritage programs.
