Member Service Associate | GreenState Credit Union

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at GreenState Credit Union, located in Omaha, NE. • Team: Reports to the Vice President / Branch Manager.
• Mission: This role is responsible for acquiring, expanding, and enriching member relationships by providing exceptional service and meeting sales expectations.
• Tech Stack: Computer applications, spreadsheets, word processing, database applications

What You’ll Actually Do
• Member Engagement: Acquire, expand, and enrich member relationships by demonstrating a positive service focus, greeting members with a smile, and identifying opportunities for additional business while upholding confidentiality.
• Sales & Lending: Actively listen to members’ needs, ask pertinent questions, offer solutions that best fit their financial needs, structure loan applications, work with underwriters, sell loan protection products, and engage in weekly outbound sales calls.
• Financial Operations: Perform all aspects of the MSR position, including accurately balancing a cash drawer daily, performing vault duties (cash ordering, balancing, drawer audits), and maintaining a firm understanding of cash and check handling policies.
• Relationship Building: Build strong member relationships by recognizing financial needs and either meeting them with appropriate GreenState products/services or referring them to specialized departments, and enriching the community through participation in service organizations and Credit Union events.
• Compliance & Adherence: Possess a thorough knowledge of all federal regulations and procedures concerning deposits, adhere to all state, federal, and credit union regulations, policies, and guidelines, and support a diverse and inclusive work environment.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A high school diploma or the equivalent (GED) is required. Candidates must be bondable and be registered pursuant to the requirements of the S.A.F.E Act.
• Experience: Requires a minimum of one year of similar or related experience, or 12 months in an MSR role demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of all credit union accounts and products, along with a proven ability to manage a wide variety of functions quickly and accurately.
• Skills: Demonstrated high energy, sales ability, and interpersonal skills to represent the credit union professionally, strong accuracy and attention to detail, proficiency with relevant computer applications (spreadsheets, word processing, database), proven relationship-building techniques, self-motivation, sound judgment, ability to work independently, and capacity to maintain composure and problem-solve effectively.
