Industrial Sales Account Manager Trainee – Development Program | GHX Industrial, LLC

The Tone:
This is a full-time, 12-to-18-month development program at GHX Industrial, with initial training in Houston, TX, and subsequent relocation to an assigned sales territory. GHX Industrial, a SunSource company, is a long-established value-added distributor and fabricator of industrial gaskets and hoses. The company serves a diverse range of large refining, petrochemical, oil and gas, OEM, and mining clients nationwide. This program is designed to train recent graduates, providing comprehensive development and mentorship to prepare them for a successful career in outside industrial sales.

The TL;DR

• Mission: To learn full-cycle industrial sales skills and product solutions to effectively serve customer needs in an assigned territory.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Training Participation: Engage in structured training for 60 days at the GHX headquarters, followed by 10 months at a local GHX office.
• Professional Development: Receive ongoing mentorship and in-depth product training to build expertise.
• Sales Skill Acquisition: Learn comprehensive outside sales techniques and strategies.
• Customer Interaction: Work alongside experienced Account Managers on sales calls to build relationships with new and existing customers.
• Solution Delivery: Solve customer problems by applying technical and product-based solutions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum Associate degree or technical training in a related field. This is an entry-level role for recent graduates.
• Experience: Willingness to relocate for initial training and for final placement in a sales territory upon program completion.
• Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, a competitive drive, and aptitude for building relationships.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Distribution, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, or a related field; coursework in Fluid Power, Fluid Process, or Fluid Conveyance; or internship/co-op experience in sales/distribution or manufacturing.
