The Tone:
This is a 10-week seasonal internship at DLA Piper, offered within a hybrid work environment across Los Angeles, New York City, San Diego, and San Francisco. What You’ll Actually Do
• Legal Work: Work on trials, appeals, and related counseling within the Trademark subgroup, including pro bono opportunities.
• Skill Development: Participate in a tailored experience with in-depth training focused on developing legal skills and preparing for future roles.
• Client Engagement: Gain insight into client needs through practical experience and direct involvement in trademark matters.
• Team Support: Collaborate with an assigned team, receiving support and feedback to aid in professional development.
• Networking: Build a professional network through organized social events and gain a clear understanding of associate life at DLA Piper.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Law students who will have completed four semesters of law school prior to the start of the 2027 Summer Program.
• Experience: Demonstrated interest in intellectual property and a background or education in science.
• Skills: Effective verbal and written communication with clients, lawyers, and third parties; ability to produce timely, accurate, and quality work products; capability to successfully meet deadlines and manage competing demands; and the aptitude to foster positive work relationships.
