Summer Intern – Credit Risk Administration | Webster Bank

What You’ll Actually Do
• Understand: Understand Webster Bank’s comprehensive Risk Management function, with a specific focus on the critical activities performed by the Credit Risk Review team.
• Acquire: Acquire hands-on exposure to the commercial credit policies and robust procedures employed in the evaluation and management of diverse loan requests.
• Support: Support the Credit Risk Review team by assisting in the thorough review of loans to ensure their execution and ongoing management strictly adhere to established bank policies and documentation standards.
• Cultivate: Cultivate a practical working knowledge of the key systems and operational processes integral to both the Credit Risk Review function and the broader Commercial Bank.
• Undertake: Undertake a significant department-assigned project over the 10-week internship period, culminating in a professional end-of-program presentation to managers and relevant stakeholders.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Current undergraduate rising Junior or Senior, enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in a related field with a demonstrated interest in the banking or financial services industry.
• Experience: Experience creating and delivering presentations.
• Skills: Strong analytical abilities; excellent written and verbal communication skills; highly organized with strong attention to detail; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Bonus: Resourceful, enthusiastic, proactive, self-motivated with a strong work ethic, collaborative team player, and ability to learn quickly and solve problems; legally eligible to work in the U.S. and able to travel to corporate offices for events or training.
