Overview of The Company: Fox TV Stations

FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas (DMAs), and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

Job Description: Summer Internship Program

FOX 2/WJBK is offering a Summer Internship Program designed for college juniors and seniors who are pursuing majors in Broadcast Communications, Journalism, or related fields. This program offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience and insight into the dynamic broadcasting industry.

What You’ll Learn & Do

Interns will have the chance to learn directly from experienced professionals and gain hands-on exposure in key departments. Throughout the internship, students will observe daily newsroom operations, contribute to production and editorial tasks, and develop a comprehensive understanding of how a broadcast newsroom functions.

  • Newsroom: Observe daily operations, assist with production and editorial tasks.
  • Sports: Gain exposure to sports broadcasting within the newsroom environment.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for this exciting internship program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a college junior or senior majoring in Broadcast Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Must be available to intern a minimum of 3 days per week, 7 hours per day.
  • Must be able to participate during the May – August summer semester.

Compensation

The pay rate for this role, with the final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location, is $14.00 per hour.
